UCRS Tips and Tricks
Here are some tips and tricks that you may not know:
Various Efficiency Optimizations
Fuel
- Perfect Refills: To refill fuel without overfilling, rapidly move the lever up and down. This is known as the jerk-off technique or edging technique.
- Water Fuel Module: You don’t need to pull the fader to release and return the tanks—just a simple click will suffice.
Oil
- Efficient Filling: It is easier to fill a canister with 50% oil consistently than to fill the tank directly.
AI
- Simplified Placement: You don’t need to pull the hatch back down to place the rotators and the belt.
Tomfoolery
- Retention Caddy: The retention caddy can be removed after completing the level. It does not need to remain in place for a satisfactory job.
VR
- Control Rewiring: After completing the “Up Is Down” room, you don’t need to rewire the controls to the standard layout for a satisfactory job. However, you must screw everything back in.
Rebreather
- Extra Foliage: Most Rebreather modules come with excess foliage. You can “borrow” some for later customers. Only 3 green foliage are required for the module to function properly.
- Repairing Foliage: Foliage left in storage can repair itself overnight. There’s no need to use the repair part.
- Gas Replacement: There’s no need to unscrew and empty the canisters. Once all conditions are correct, the gas will automatically be replaced.
- Gas Filter Check: Unsure if the gas filter is broken? Remove it and hold it in your hand. A ghostly image will show if it’s fine or broken.
Perfection
- Extra Money: Completing tasks perfectly awards extra money, but it’s often not worth the effort unless specified by a perfectionist client.
- Fuel: +6 gold per perfect tank.
- Oil: +5 gold for a tank filled with almost exactly 50%.
- Camera: +5 gold for crystal-clear focus.
- Headlights: +5 gold for each module with a working headlight, blinker, and 100% freezer fluid.
Hidden Cards
- Check Thoroughly: Cards can be hidden in the fuel and toilet modules. Always inspect them, even if maintenance isn’t required.
Maximizing Profit
- High-Paying Modules: The more parts a module has, the more it can pay when fully repaired.
- Early in the game, focus on Rebreather modules for the best returns.
Mysterious vs. Fatal
- Fatal Jobs: These often involve reactors or dangerous elements like pipe bombs that reset progress.
- Mysterious Tag: The mysterious tag does not hide the fatal tag. If a reactor module has a mysterious tag, it will also have the fatal tag. Don’t hesitate to take mysterious jobs if they lack reactors.
Build Order
- On a new run, prioritize the pancake, encoder, and extension upgrades.
- In the first three days, aim to earn enough to cover these upgrades and rent, especially in relaxed mode. Pick the highest-paying modules.
- Consider adding a money tree if feasible.
- Continue buying extra time daily and prioritize high-paying jobs.

What are Factions?
Each faction has a god you have to meet and if you complete their ending, you’ll get an item crucial for something. You’ll figure it out for what they are once you attempt a non-faction ending.
Lawmakers
Lawmakers are masked with red eyes who talk about combat all the time. Remember how relaxed mode makes you not have to deal with time at all? Well, good luck being relaxed in the Lawmakers ending.
- How to attempt the Lawmakers ending: Sell 3 cards and when they contact you, join them.
Empyrean
Empyreans wear golden masks and talk about money. You will never get to see their place.
- How to attempt the Empyrean ending: Install a working doodad for paul. You can take his broken one and store it in the repair storage overnight, or steal it from customers with the ??? module. Then, something will happen to paul and you can go to sleep. The next day, the Empyreans will contact you.
Cultists
Cutlists have these weird cylindrical masks and creepy eye(s). You probably shouldn’t join them if you don’t want to microwave cute babies.
- How to attempt the Cultist ending: Feed the list of specified trash to the great one’s ♥ eater. PHLEMP is a specific card that you can find, the bobblehead is the one at the fuel charging station that you can snip off with your pliers, an item once broken is a broken item you’ve repaired in the welder, an item from another time is an item from the temporal storage from another run, a willing sacrifice is you, reaching 500 score in the ♥ eater and wearing the cultist outfit. Throw pancakes into the ♥ eater to reach the score easily, also PHLEMP from another run ticks off both things.
Hive
Members of the Hive are poor people (literally and figuratively) who “chose” to be “integrated” to escape their debts. Slavery… they were forced to sell themselves into slavery.
- How to attempt the Hive ending: Don’t have enough money on the 280 rent day, go into speakeasy and talk to the hive dude there, and join him.
Magpie
Magpies are big dudes with round heads in grey armor, and are looking for their Treasure (which is their god who you probably already pet over 100 times for that one achivement).
- How to attempt the Magpie ending: On day 4, go to the speakeasy top floor and talk to the crying Magpie dude. Agree to join, then do their quests.
Literally just everyday people
Here’s how to differentiate between everyday normal people and Hive:
