Sultan’s Game Card Guide

In this guide, you can find the cards you need to continue the events in Sultan’s Game and their tier, time limit and strategies in detail.

Ultimate Card Removal Guide

Here is a list of relatively stable and low-risk card disposal events based on numerous encounters:

Lust

EventTierTime LimitNotes
Indulge at HomeBronze–SilverNoneDrag a Lust card into the “Ponder” slot. Can indulge with a passionate follower or wife. Usually used with Meiji.
Desperate DesireBronzeNoneDrag Lust card into Ponder and wait a day.
Secret RendezvousBronze–SilverRandom RefreshTriggers randomly when you have a passionate follower. Often leads to scenes with Meiji.

Each location only consumes one card—but that’s usually more than enough.

  • Brothel: Stone–Silver, Random. Each girl is available for two days (?).
  • Audience Hall: Stone–Gold, Random. Only works on the Sultan’s harem—not passing nobles. Sultan stops working after Fatigue 7.

Most stable way to dispose of Gold Lust cards
Requires: 30 Gold, a Charm 3 accessory, and a Curio (usually the baby crocodile).

  • Scepter of Life events: Gold, Time-limited. Less stable, but if you’ve reached this late-game content, you probably don’t care about Lust cards anymore.
  • Strategy: This game basically wants you to indulge—so Lust cards are fairly easy to get rid of. But there are unlucky moments when the Sultan’s consorts and high-tier brothel girls are off-duty, and you get stuck.

So a good start is to make your wife unhappy.

Then you can use a silver accessory to fix her mood and promote her to a Silver card. (Silver Meiji can also be promoted to Gold with an accessory.)

This way, all Lust cards below Silver can be handled by your wife—no more awkward stalls.

Note: The Sultan’s harem storyline requires Lust cards, while the brothel story doesn’t. So, from a gameplay-efficiency perspective, prioritize using Lust cards on the Sultan’s harem.

Luxury

EventTierTime LimitNotes
ExpansionStone–GoldNoneDrag a Luxury card into Ponder. Four levels: 3/5/10/20 gold for each card tier.
Make It RainBronzeNoneTrigger after Expansion.
BrothelStone–SilverRandom
Beat the DogBronzeRepeatableBathe to trigger. Also usable for Conquest cards.
Investments / Observatory / Second InvestmentBronzeRandom Refresh
Generous DonationBronzeNoneEvent prompt—select large donation.
Wife’s Tea PartySilverRecurringGreat for Luxury. Using it for Lust cards has negative effects.
Expand Crocodile PoolBronzeNoneRequires capturing a crocodile first. Can consume evidence. Useful, but crocodiles are too important early game.
Expand TapestrySilverNoneBuy a tapestry from the wandering merchant for an empty house.
Buy Golden BirdGold7 DaysRandom event. Buy for gold of equal weight. Consumes one Gold Luxury card, but then you can’t use expansion for Gold cards. Not very stable.
Build Golden Cat StatueGoldNoneSilver prostitute event—destroys a Gold Conquest card. Requires her to ascend and gift you the statue.
Final PreparationGoldNoneDragon-slaying storyline. Requires Adila (Scarface) and Zebel (Hunter General) to marry.
  • Strategy: Avoid starting with Bronze Expansion—if you later get stuck with a Gold or Silver Luxury card, you’re in trouble.

In early game, I use inventions and investments to dispose of lower-tier cards. Once I have swap or delay options, then I’ll consider house expansions.

Two Silver Luxury cards can wait for the wife’s tea party or the tapestry event—super stable. Gold Luxury is also fairly manageable.

Ironically, if you never see any Luxury cards early on, the last one left might be a Stone or Bronze card. Consider keeping a “Beat the Dog” event or a big donation as backup, or carry a crocodile.

Conquest

EventTierTime LimitNotes
Climb the MountainBronzeNoneDrag a low-tier Conquest card into Ponder. Requires survival stat.
General AssistsBronzeNoneKeep a Bronze Conquest card in hand for a few turns.
Beat Dog/LionBronzeRepeatableTriggered in the bath. Can also dispose of other card types.
Haunted MansionBronzeNoneTriggered from bath rumors. Good for Conquest.
Giant RatBronzeNoneDormitory-Chef follow-up. Also used for Slaughter cards.
House Taken by RefugeesBronzeNoneFrom bath rumors. Also works for Luxury.
Wolf Den BattleBronzeNoneRequires investigating the wolf den first.
White RhinoSilverNone
Gess – Deep InvestigationSilverNoneRescue Gess from prison. Requires a Conquest card.
Famous Hamas BrothersSilverRepeatableBath rumor.
Kill Shama’s Father!Gold20 DaysFollow-up to Shama (Silver Prostitute). Must discard one Gold Conquest card. Best option for Gold Conquest. Delay it until your army is ready.
  • Strategy: There are so many events you won’t run out of places to use Conquest cards. The only real question is what to do now, and what to save for later.

General Assists, Climbing, Dog Fights, Haunted House—all can wait. Giant Rat appears later, but is also useful.

Three stable Silver options. I like to go from rescuing Gess to fighting the white rhino.

Slaughter

EventTierTime LimitNotes
Court AudienceBronze–GoldRandomKill same-tier nobles. Can’t target Sultan’s harem. Risky.
Kill ProstituteStone–SilverRandomNever worth it.
Kill TeammateStone–GoldNoneDrag into Ponder. Often a waste. May have moral consequences.
Villain Seeks ShelterStone–SilverNoneHigh Fame triggers this. Killing ends future villains joining. Best to delay. Must manage their criminal evidence.
Dying SlaveStoneNoneEvent where a slave steals money. Choose “make him pay with his body.” Killable via Ponder.
Debt-Ridden FriendStoneNoneAfter “Ambush Opportunity” event. Killable via Ponder.
Captured HereticBronzeNoneEvent where you catch them worshipping false gods. Kill via Ponder.
Random KillingBronzeNoneDrag low-tier card into Ponder and ignore. Triggers next day.
Widow Kills BrotherBronzeRepeatableAfter uncovering her conspiracy. Killing her costs more.
Giant RatBronzeNoneDormitory-Chef follow-up.
Naila (Vain Noblewoman)Stone–SilverTimedAppears after indulging with her. Can use both Slaughter and Lust. Low will to live.
“People Want You Dead” EventStone–SilverNoneAppears at high Infamy. Killing triggers another later. Excellent value.
Infamy QuestsBronze–SilverTimedHigh Infamy brings murder contracts.
Bathe with CrocodileSilverNoneRequires Cat companion. Use Crocodile and a Beastmaster in bath. Triggers next day.
Kill the VizierGoldLoopingVizier must be alive. Can’t kill if he’s fired.
  • Strategy: There’s no shortage of people to kill at Bronze level. High Fame/Infamy opens more options.

Silver and above usually come at a cost. Pick less important targets—or burn the card.

Notes

You don’t need to discard every Sultan card to finish the game. Ending with 10+ unused cards is normal.

Card removal just buys you time to complete storylines and reach an ending.

If it looks like you’ll have leftovers:

  1. Visit the Sorceress to purge your hand—it’s already doomed anyway.
  2. Two days before the timer ends, throw a Gold Conquest into the Rebellion.

This locks the cards and buys you extra time to finish more events or even win via rebellion.

Early Game Strategy

By “early,” I mean from the beginning until unlocking “Restored Miracle” (reset a Sultan card). After that, as long as you’re careful with swaps, you’ll have a stockpile of events to survive.

First Two Weeks:

Don’t swap cards unless absolutely necessary. A Gold Slaughter or Conquest early on = game over.

  • Lust: Use the brothel first. Harem has too many strings attached. After that, upset your wife and upgrade her.
  • Conquest: Bathe often to unlock events—or just wait and wash later. Widow and Rhino make this manageable.
  • Luxury: Use research for Bronze. Expand houses with Silver or higher. Avoid using Bronze for expansion early.
  • Slaughter: Few free-kill options early. Try to line up with Naila or the bugged-out minister. Otherwise, go for random kills.

By week three, you’ll likely see:

  • Naila (Slaughter/Lust)
  • Tribal Hostage (can be used for Lust/Luxury)

These overlap with Silver Conquest from the Rhino. Almost all cards are manageable at this point—ask the Sorceress for an extra if you want.

After finishing these, just stall until you unlock Restored Miracle.
