Spelunky 2 Achievements Guide %100

Spelunky 2 contains 32 achievements. Most of them locked to singleplayer and unseeded runs. This guide obviously contains spoilers so, beware!

“Story” Related

You Got This

“Unlock the entrance.”
Finish the Tutorial for the first time.

Feels Good

Make it past 1-4 in a non-seeded run.

Skills Improving

Make it past Olmec’s Lair in a non-seeded run.

Persistent

Reach the Ice Caves in a non-seeded run.

Journeyman

Complete the game in a non-seeded run.

Ironman

Complete the game without using shortcuts in a non-seeded, single-player run.

Pilgrim

Reach the Sunken City in a non-seeded, single-player run.
If you want to know how to get there.. It’s.. quite complicated.

Get the Udjat Eye (1-2 / 1-3) from the chest with the gold key.
Purchase the Hedjet from the Black Market.
Access the bottom cave in 3-1 and climb to the top to find the Ankh.
Enter the Temple of Anubis (4-1) from a lower door in 3-1 and kill Anubis to gain the Scepter.
Find the City of Gold door in 4-2. It will open with the Scepter and Hedjet.
Find the large altar in the City of Gold. Fall from a tall height to die so your body lands on the altar. If you have the Ankh, you’ll revive.
Respawn in Duat. Climb to the (there’s no time limit) and kill Osiris to collect the Tablet of Destiny. Then kill Anubis to exit.
Travel down to 6-2 and find the room with the strange figurines. Open your journal and check the Tablet of Destiny — it gives you three randomly-generated clues. One clue describes the condition of the figurine, one describes the material, and one describes the symbol. Collect the figurine that matches all three descriptions.
Go down to 6-3 and put down the figurine. It will break open and spawn Qilin, a flying mount. Now you need to reach 6-4, the final boss arena. Qilin can take up to four hits in total so, beware of that.
In 6-4, you have to kill the boss (Or not? idk if you can skip it). Fly up with Qilin until you get to the secret optional exit door at the very top. Congrats! You reached the Sunken City.

*I’ll make a proper guide to get there in the future, with pics and some tips, If I have the time to do so.

Master

Complete the game by defeating Hundun in a non-seeded, single-player run.

Awakened

Reach the Cosmic Ocean in a non-seeded, single-player run.
To get there, is even more complicated than the Pilgrim achievement!, basically all you have to do is

Grab the Udjat Eye in the Mines
Go to the volcano area
Find the bow in the moon challenge
Activate the drill with the Udjat Eye
Grab the crown and vlad’s cape from the top of the vampire tower (If you rescued van helsing in 2-1, you’ll have an easier time)
Store the bow with waddler in olmec’s stage

You may need a couple bombs to reach his cave. Once you’re in there, drop the bow on his pedestal. The floor should light up to indicate that it’s been stored.
Defeat olmec and get the ankh
Grab the sword in 4-2
Drop the sword in 4-3 as soon as you start, find the one-way door, and die by lava, by touching the idol.
Now bring your sword to the secret entrance
Kill Osiris, and get the tablet
Travel down to 6-2 and find the room with the strange figurines. Open your journal and check the Tablet of Destiny — it gives you three randomly-generated clues. Find waddler in 7-1, under a cave. If you stored the bow, it will be there.
Get the arrow from the sun challenge
Defeat Hundun. DO NOT use the arrow on it!!!!
Now that Hundun is dead, go to its corpse and fire the arrow into its eye
Congrats! you reached the Cosmic Ocean!!!

Shadow Shopper

Reach the Black Market in a non-seeded run.

Legendary

Reach the City of Gold in a non-seeded, single-player run.

Shortcut Related

Mama’s Little Helper

Unlock the first shortcut.

Mama’s Big Helper

Unlock all three shortcuts.

All three shortcuts will ask for some items/gold, being these
For the first shortcut:

2000 gold
1 Bomb
10,000 gold

For the second shortcut:

1 Rope
Any weapon
Any mount

For the third and last shortcut:

50,000
A hired companion
The Golden Key (The one you use for the udjat eye, found in the Dwelling)

Challenges Related

Excavator

Complete the Moon Challenge in a non-seeded run.

You’ll find an npc which chalenges you with the Moon Challenge, early in world 2. This NPC can show up either in the forest or lava versions of the world. She’ll ask you for $10,000 in return for taking on the Moon Challenge, so pay this and head into the door behind it.
All you have to do, is just reveal all the rooms available in the cave network.
The challenge won’t end until you’ve broken the Mattock given to you at the beginning.

Torchbearer

Complete the Star Challenge in a non-seeded run.
In world 4, you will find a NPC that challenges you into the star challenge. All you have to do here, is just light up all of the torches within a time limit. Pretty easy, specially with a Jetpack.

Survivor

Complete the Sun Challenge in a non-seeded run.
In world 7, you will find the sun challenge. The Sun Challenge is kinda difficult, as the room will fill with enemies, and you have to survive until the timer runs out.

Item Related

Her Favorite

Obtain the Kapala in a non-seeded run.

The Kapala is an item obtained by sacrificing bodies to the obscure goddess Kali in her altar.

Divine Right

Obtain some royal headwear in a non-seeded run.

The Royal headwear is found at the very top of Vlad’s castle. You get there by activating the drill in the Volcana level using the Udjat Eye. Note that there’s no way to progress to the next level directly from the Castle area, so you’ll need to go back the way you entered it and then exit the level the regular way.

A Second Chance

Obtain the Ankh in a non-seeded run.

The Ankh is found at the top of the area that you access by defeating Olmec and standing on his head to enter the caves (any cave will do) that you see above the lava (much like Hell in the original game, but without the hassle of having to get the Book of the Dead).

Chosen One

Obtain the Tablet of Destiny in a non-seeded run.

Parenthood

Wake the Eggplant Child in a non-seeded run.
Getting this achievement is a little complicated, as you have to

Acquire the Eggplant by placing a present box (acquiring by a vendor, spawns randomly) on a bloody altar.
Take the Eggplant all the way down to the Ice Caves 5-1.
Place the Eggplant on the purple altar.
The eggplant will hatch and become the Eggplant Child.

You can still do more with the child, like literally discovering a new area that does not appear in the journal until discovered. I don’t really know how to get there, so until I have a clear path, I’m sorry, but I’ll have to say that you should google “Spelunky 2 Egg Plant level” on your own. Mostly because it’s not needed for any achievement.

“Quest” Achievements

Track Star

Finish the Tutorial Speedrun in under 30 seconds.

NOTE: You can’t get this achievement until you unlock at least one character.

Turkey Whisperer

Bring two turkeys to Yang in a non-seeded run.

Support a Local Business

Buy out Yang’s Pet Shop in a non-seeded run.

VIP

Enter Madame Tusk’s Palace of Pleasure as a guest (in a non-seeded run).

To get inside Madame Tusk’s Palace of Pleasure, you need to roll 7 four times to get the grand prize and the tag of “high-roller.”
Then travel to 6-3. Here, you will find Madame Tusk’s Palace of Pleasure and with the high-roller tag, you will be allowed entrance into the Palace.

Speedlunky

Complete the game in 10 minutes or less without shortcuts in a non-seeded, single-player run.

Millonaire

End a run with $1,000,000 or more in a non-seeded, single-player run.

Low Scorer

Complete the game with no gold without shortcuts in a non-seeded, single-player run.

Journal Related

Seen a Lot

Complete 50% of the Journal or more.

Seen It All

Complete the Journal.

Deathmatch Related

Arena Champion

Win a First-to-Five Deathmatch against three bots using the Default ruleset.
