Sonic Superstars How to make Epic Games go away
Let’s skip the annoying Epic Games setup that no one wants in a single-player video game. Our Sonic Superstars How to make Epic Games go away guide will help us with this!
Step 1
Right click Sonic Superstars and go to Manage and Browse Local Files
Step 2
Delete the EpicOnlineServices folder and InstallScript.vdf
Step 3
Open SonicSuperstars_Boot.ini
Step 4
Change NoOperation to 1 and save.
Additional Things
While Epic won’t install it may still pop up asking for an account log in, this is due to there being additional files present.
In the Sonic Superstars game folder go to SonicSuperstars_Data/Plugins/x86_64 and delete the EOS dll present.
Then go back to the SonicSuperstars_Data folder and head into StreamingAssets.
Delete the EOS folder
Result
Now you can launch the game without needing to install Epic or have an Epic account. Online Multiplayer will however be disabled due to the lack of Steam Matchmaking.
To SEGA
Message to SEGA if you happen to read this, remove the Installation requirement and add Steamworks P2P matchmaking. You can have an optional Epic Cross Play with the 0 people who bought it over there and you don’t need to force an Epic installation, your Total War games don’t need one despite using EOS so why should the almost strictly single player game need it?
Notice about Denuvo
Despite the Store not mentioning it, Sonic Superstars does in fact have Denuvo Anti-Tamper
Here is Denuvo present in the file size and here is the Denuvo Steam Offline error for proof.
