If you don’t know how to complete Mission 101 in Persona 3 Reload, we have explained all the details from how to unlock it to mission tips in this guide.
How to Complete Quest No. 101
You will need the following:
- 1 Persona Support/Tank build. I use Orpheus Kai (Telos), which is by far the best Persona available for this fight. To unlock him, you must max out every single Social Link. Orpheus Kai isn’t 100% required, but makes it a lot easier. If you don’t have Orpheus Kai, I recommend building two Support/Tank personas. Thanatos and Cybele would be my second best choices, as they have very good base resistances and only require 1 max Social Link (Lovers). If you don’t have Cybele unlocked, you can use Atropos. Whatever you’re using, it is crucial that it knows the “Enduring Soul” passive skill. (If you’re using multiple support/tank personas, only one must know it).
- 1 Offensive Persona build. I use Siegfried with a slash build and the “Scarlet Havoc” Theurgy (Unlocked by having fused Siegfried and Mithras at least once), but any persona works for this with any elemental attack as long as you play around it’s resistances correctly. I like using a Slash build because it can crit for higher damage, and Scarlet Havoc is extremely powerful, never misses, and ignores resistances, meaning you can hit Elizabeth for maximum damage in any turn. If you’re gonna use magic instead of physical, make sure to run Concentrate instead of Charge in your support/tank persona. I would actually recommend Yurlungur, who is unlocked by maxing the Temperance Social Link. If you don’t have Yurlungur unlocked, you can use Chi You (requires maxed Tower Social Link), Messiah(being careful with dark/light attacks) or Hecatoncheires (no requirements). Suggested builds will be at the bottom of the guide. Whatever you’re using, it is crucial that it knows the “Endure” passive skill.
- 1 persona with the passive skills: Auto-Mataru, Auto-Maraku and Auto-Masuku. This is optional, but will save you a turn at the beginning of the fight. Can be any persona.
- Armor of Light: This is the best armor in the game. Not required, but helps tremendously. To obtain it, you must first fuse Messiah and level him up to level 99 to obtain his heart item. Then, go to the Antiques Store in Paulownia Mall, select the Dead Moon Husk and trade 10 diamonds and 5 rubies for the armor. To get experience quickly for level 99 Messiah, charge your Theurgy, then go solo without teammates into Tartarus, equip an experience boosting accessory if you have one and wait for the reaper to appear. You can kill him instantly with the Armageddon Theurgy. Pick up the wand card after battle for even more experience. If you don’t have the Dead Moon Husk material, you can get is as a reward for completing certain quests, and there’s a chance you can get one from green striped chests in Tartarus floor 251. You can save before checking floor 251, if there’s no green striped chest, reload your save and check again, if there is, don’t open it yet, use Yamagishi’s Escape Route to return to Tartarus’s entrance and save your game again. Then go back and open the chest this time. If it’s not a Dead Moon Husk, reload your save and try again until you get it. Diamonds and Rubies are dropped by certain shadows in the Adamah block of Tartarus.
- Shoes of Bane: Arguably the most crucial piece of equipment. Again, not required, but nearly mandatory to have. You must have bought these from Tanaka’s TV shopping show on 11/29. If you didn’t, you can still fight, but you must block every single turn Elizabeth uses the “Die for me!” skill.
- Lucifer’s Blade: Not required, but can save you some money for raising your persona stats. Can also boost your magic attack damage if you’re going for an elemental magic offensive persona build, and it doesn’t have the Magic Ability passive skill. Obtained in the exact same manner as the armor of light, but requires Lucifer’s heart item at level 97 instead of Messiah.
- Divine Pillar or Amritite Necklace accessories: Another nearly crucial piece of equipment (but not mandatory), Divine Pillar is my preference as it grants you the Firm Stance passive on all your personas, which halves all damage taken at the cost of being unable to dodge attacks. Elizabeth hits like a truck and it’s tough to dodge her attacks in my experience, besides, without Firm Stance, you will need to max out your personas’s AG stat to have the highest odds of dodging, which is expensive. To get Divine Pillar, you must complete Quest No. 100, which is already required anyway to unlock the boss, so you’re guaranteed to have it. If you rather go with Amritite Necklacke, you can buy it for 500k yen inside Club Escapade in Paulownia Mall, and I strongly recommend you swap out the “Insta-Heal” passive skill from the persona build recommendations down below for the “Firm Stance” passive skill.
- If you’re not copying my exact setup, you will need lots of healing items. Beads and Bead Chains are recommended, save as many as you can from your playthrough. If you’re copying my setup, you probably won’t need
- SP restoring items. Soma or Precious Eggs. I did not use any because of my overpowered setup and successfully manipulated Yamagishi into giving me SP with her Theurgy (more info on this later), but if you’re not using my exact setup or get unlucky with Yamagishi, you will need some. I’d bring 3, preferably Somas, to be safe.
Unlock Requirements
- You must have reached the Adamah block in Tartarus, which opens up automatically on January if you’re on track for the good ending.
- You must have completed Quests No. 100. It unlocks as soon as you unlock the Adamah block in Tartarus, and is completed by talking to Elizabeth with a “Bloody Button” in your inventory. This is a guaranteed drop from the Reaper. If you defeated it previously and didn’t sell the drop, you can automatically complete it, if not, you can go defeat it. The reaper spawns when you’ve spent too much time in a single Tartarus floor.
- You must have completed Quest No. 81. It unlocks by completing any other 80 quests, 4 of which have to be 77, 78, 79 and 80.
- You must have completed the Star Social Link. You will need the “Armageddon” Theurgy, which is unlocked by having fused Satan and Helel at least once. Helel can only be unlocked by maxing the Star Social Link.
- You must have cleared every single Monad path door.
Base Rules
- The “Armageddon” Theurgy is not allowed, unless used to deal the finishing blow to Elizabeth.
- Tetrakarn and Makarakarn support skills are not allowed.
- You are not allowed to counter any of Elizabeth’s physical attacks with a passive skill such as High Counter.
- You cannot null, repel or drain any of her attacks. You cannot use a persona with any of these attributes during a turn where she uses a skill of the corresponding element.
- The fight must be completed in 50 turns or less.
- Once her second phase is activated, you must reduce her HP to 10000 in 4 turns or less.
Important: Breaking any of these rules will result in you taking 9999 unavoidable damage until you’re dead, failing your attempt.
Getting Started
Before going to Tartarus I like going to Club Escapade and purchasing the Fortune to increase the charge rate of Theurgy. Then I will make sure my Theurgy bar as well as Yamagishi’s is charged, and I’ll fight Shadows in the Adamah block until I get a minor arcana “cups” card with the buff that will make either your attack or your whole party’s attack stronger at the beginning of the next battle. This essentially lets you start the Elizabeth boss fight with the effects of Charge and Concentrate. I’ll also make sure to have my persona with the 3 auto skills selected. Once you’re ready and have accepted Quest No. 101, head to floor 255 of Tartarus without any party members, and get to the bottom of the Monad Path door.
Phase 1
Elizabeth can act twice per turn and will use the following moves:
- Turn 1: Surt (Inferno, Brave Blade, Tarukaja, Slash Attack)
- Turn 2: Jack Frost (Diamond Dust, Concentrate, Rakukaja, Rakunda)
- Turn 3: Thor (Thunder Reign, God’s Hand, Tarunda, Strike Attack)
- Turn 4: Cu Chulainn (Panta Rhei, Charge, Primal Force, Sukukaja)
- Turn 5: Metatron (Sukukaja, Sukunda, Kougaon, Divine Judgement)
- Turn 6: Alice (Die for Me! and Eigaon)
- Turn 7: Nebiros (Rakunda and Random ailment)
- Turn 8: Masakado (Concentrate and Megidolaon)
After Turn 8, she will start the pattern once again from Turn 1.
As soon as the battle starts I will immediately switch to Orpheus Kai and cast Debilitate. After tanking her first attacks, on turn 2 I will immediately switch to my offensive persona with slash build and cast the “Scarlet Havoc” Theurgy because I already have Charge active from the cups card buff from my previous shadow battle. After that, on turn 3 I will switch back to Orpheus Kai and try to keep my Heat Riser buffs and Debilitate debuffs active at all times. If they’re both active, I will go for Charge, and if they’re both active and I already have Charge active, I’ll use Scarlet Havoc to deal damage to Elizabeth.
Keep in mind, every time you’re going for an attack you must correctly anticipate which elemental attacks she will use after you attack. If your attacking persona nulls, repels, or drains the elemental attack she will use after your attack, you will fail the fight. You cannot attack her during that turn if this is the case. Simply stall with an extra Heat Riser or Debilitate until you’re able to attack.
If you don’t have Orpheus Kai, you must correctly pivot between your support/tank personas to avoid nulling, repelling or draining her attacks. If you don’t have the Shoes of Bane, you are forced to guard during the turns when she uses Alice, or else you risk and instant death. Homunculus items won’t save you.
If you take a critical hit from Elizabeth, she will usually follow up with a slash or strike attack, it doesn’t matter if your persona nulls these two attacks, but only these two after taking a crit.
Watch out for Masakado, as his Concentrate + Megidolaon hits very hard, but not for 9999 damage. If you’re taking too much damage, heal whenever you need to. You can use Yamagishi’s Theurgy whenever you need to get either a Heat Riser, Charge + Concentrate, or full HP and SP heal for free without consuming a turn. Once you use her Theurgy, scan Elizabeth every single turn you can to recharge her Theurgy as fast as possible.
If you’re not using Scarlet Havoc or any other Theurgy as your main damage source you must also correctly keep track of Elizabeth’s resistances, as they change every single turn depending on what Persona she summoned last. You do not want to attack on a turn where she completely blocks your attack, obviously, but it is also preferred to not attack on a turn where she resists your attack, as damage will be halved. You can have Yamagishi scan Elizabeth repeatedly to help you keep track of her resistances. If you’re following with my setup, this will not be a problem.
Basically, try to keep your Heat Riser buffs and Debilitate debuffs active at all times, if they already are, go for Charge or Concentrate depending on the element of your offensive persona, and if you have all 3, go for an attack as long as your offensive persona won’t block any of Elizabeth’s moves during that turn, and Elizabeth isn’t currently blocking your attack’s element (Irrelevant if you’re using my setup/Theurgy). That’s pretty much the gist of the first phase.
Elizabeth has 20000HP. Count how much damage you’ve dealt to her. Heal whenever you feel like you need to based on how much damage you’re taking and HP you have left. Once you’ve dealt at least 4500 damage, the next turn you damage her, you will activate her second phase. You know you’re in once she says your power is impressive. She will immediately change her attacking pattern.
Phase 2
Elizabeth will follow this exact pattern:
- Turn 1: Nebiros (Rakunda and Concentrate)
- Turn 2: Pixie (Megidolaon[UNAVOIDABLE, 9999 DAMAGE] and Charge)
- Turn 3: Thor (God’s Hand and Tarukaja)
- Turn 4: Thor (Charge and Concentrate)
You must reduce her HP to 10000 after Turn 4 or she will repeatedly cast unavoidable 9999 damage Megidolaons until you die.
After you see Nebiros cast Rakunda and Concentrate you must IMMEDIATELY switch back to your persona that has Enduring Soul, or you will die. Enduring Soul will allow you to tank and fully heal her unavoidable 9999 damage Megidolaon on turn 2.
Depending on how much damage you’re dealing, continue the same strategy as phase 1 or start attacking more aggressively without as many buffs/debuffs. What matters is that you get her down to 10000HP before the turn after she’s cast Charge and Concentrate.
- Tip: You can completely skip this phase if your attack that hits her after you’ve dealt over 4500 damage reduces her HP to 10000 or less. For example, if your first attack deals 2851 damage and then your second attack deals 4277 damage (Total: 7128 damage), the second phase will not be activated because the 4277 damage attack was dealt before you had done a total of 4500 damage. If you then hit her for another 4277 damage, or at least 2872 damage, as this is the hit after the 4500 total damage that would normally activate phase 2, she will already be at 10000 HP or less, which will make her completely skip her phase 2 pattern.
Regardless, once she’s down to 10000 HP or less, she will have some more dialogue and will both cast Diarahan to fully restore her HP and Heat Riser. Once you see this, you’re on phase 3. If you get her down to 10000 HP or less before turn 4 of her phase 2 pattern, she will not continue the rest of her phase 2 pattern, and immediately start her phase 3 patterns detailed below.
Phase 3
Elizabeth has 3 different attack patterns:
PATTERN 1
- Turn 1: Surt (Inferno, Tarukaja or Tarunda) and Jack Frost (Diamond Dust, Rakukaja or Rakunda)
- Turn 2: Thor (Thunder Reign or God’s Hand) and Cu Chulainn (Panta Rhei, Primal Force or Sukukaja)
- Turn 3: Metatron (Sukunda, Kougaon, or Divine Judgement) and Alice (Die for Me! or Eigaon)
- Turn 4: Nebiros (Random ailment) and Thor (God’s Hand or Heat Riser)
PATTERN 2
- Turn 1: Jack Frost (Diamond Dust, Rakukaja, and Rakunda) and Thor (Thunder Reign or Tarunda)
- Turn 2: Alice (Die for Me! or Eigaon) and Surt (Tarukaja or Brave Blade OR INFERNO)
- Turn 3: Cu Chulain (Panta Rhei, Primal Force or Sukukaja) and Metatron (Kougaon, Sukunda or Divine Judgement)
PATTERN 3
- Turn 1: Jack Frost (Diamond Dust, Rakukaja, and Rakunda) and Thor (Thunder Reign or Tarunda)
- Turn 2: Alice (Die for Me! or Eigaon) and Surt (Tarukaja or Brave Blade OR Inferno)
- Turn 3: Cu Chulain (Panta Rhei, Primal Force or Sukukaja) and Metatron (Kougaon, Sukunda or Divine Judgement)
- Turn 8: Alice (Die for Me!) and Masakado (Megidolaon)
She will execute her attack patterns in this exact order: PATTERN 1 -> PATTERN 2 -> PATTERN 1 -> PATTERN 3 ⟳ (Start Over from Pattern 1 after Pattern 3)
The fight doesn’t change much compared to phase 1 if you have Orpheus Kai. If you don’t, you will have to continue correctly anticipating her attacks to not null, repel or drain any by accident, which is harder now, since she can choose between up to 4 different elements in a single turn. You will have to keep guarding during turns when she uses Alice if you don’t have Shoes of Bane. Masakado’s Megidolaon will not be nearly as threatening as in Phase 1, since she won’t concentrate before using it anymore.
Keep up the strategy similarly to phase 1 until you get her to under 10000 HP again. If you’re using Scarlet Havoc as your main damage source like me, you cannot use it to deal the blow that will reduce her HP to 10000 or less, because you will need your Theurgy fully charged immediately on the same turn you reduce her HP to 10000 or less. This is why I start attacking with Brave Blade over Scarlet Havoc once she’s at a certain HP treshold (Under 16500). If you’ve been following along with Scarlet Havoc or any Theurgy as your main damage source, this is when you need to start taking Elizabeth’s different resistances every turn into account, and attack her only when she won’t block your attack. If you’ve been using normal damaging spells, it’s business as usual. You can attack her to get her HP down to 10000 or less once your Theurgy gauge is fully charged.
Once you get her HP to 10000 or less again, she will have more dialogue and cast one last 9999 damage Megidolaon with Pixie, which you’ll survive thanks to the Endure passive from your offensive persona. After this, simply cast the Armageddon Theurgy to complete the fight.
How to Manipulate Yamagishi’s Theurgy
Yamagishi’s Theurgy will have one of the following random 3 effects during the fight:
- Fully restore HP and SP
- Grant you the effect of Charge and Concentrate
- Grant you the effect of Heat Riser
You can manipulate her Theurgy to increase the odds of getting what you want.
If you’re very low on health or SP, she will likely go for the refill. If you already have the effects of Charge, Concentrate and all 3 of Heat Riser’s buff active, it’ll be almost guaranteed. Similarly, if you’re good on health and SP, and already have Charge and Concentrate active, you can guaranteed to go for a Heat Riser. And finally, if you already have all 3 heat riser buffs active, and you’re good on both HP and SP, she’ll almost always go for Charge + Concentrate.
Charge + Concentrate or HP + SP refill are not guaranteed because there’s always a chance she decides to extend your Heat Riser, but it’s still nearly guaranteed if you do the manipulation correctly. Never 100% rely on Yamagishi, and always bring a good amount of HP and SP healing items to the fight, preferably Beads and Somas, just in case, even if you’re following along with my exact setup.
How to Build a Persona with the Exact Moveset you Want
Use the Persona 3 Fusion Calculator [aqiu384.github.io]
Make sure to first click the “Fusion Settings” tab and disable whatever max social link/max link episode/quest personas you don’t have unlocked, and enable whatever DLC personas you own.
In the “Recipe Generator” tab you can select what persona you want to build with the exact moveset you want and it will calculate the exact fusion routes you must follow to get it. You will need a lot of in-game money.
Keep in mind that the number of skills a persona can inherit in fusion depends on the level of the persona and how many free skill slots your ingredient personas have. The higher the level of the persona you’re fusing, and the less free slots your ingredients have, the more skills your persona will be able to inherit, as low as 1, up to a maximum of 5. The rest of the skills will have to come from skill cards. Again, on the fusion calculator, you can click the “Skill list” tab and check what rank of shuffle time minor arcana sword cards drop the skill card you need. It is recommended that you prioritize skills that cannot be obtained from skill cards during fusion. You can also acquire very useful skill cards, namely, resistances to all elements except light and dark, spell master and arms master from the Antiques Store in Paulownia Mall in exchange for gemstones, then you can duplicate them in the shrine.
Some personas cannot inherit a certain type of skill at all, make sure to check this before putting together your build. You can check what skill types you persona can inherit in it’s page, by clicking it’s name on the fusion calculator home page/persona list tab. Orpheus Kai is the exception as he can fully inherit any 7 skills.
How to Raise your Persona’s Stats
First, make sure you pick up Empress and Emperor major arcana cards during Shuffle Time after battling in Tartarus. You can get 2 guaranteed major arcana cards to choose from after defeating a boss in a Monad Door.
Use the solo reaper armageddon trick for xp described earlier to level your persona to 99. Then, use incense cards to max the remainder of the stat. Keep in mind if you’re using Lucifer’s Blade, you only need to raise your persona stats to 92. You can get these cards from the antique store in Paulownia mall in exchange for gemstones.
You can farm gemstones in Tartarus or just buy the gemstones in Club Escapade. Essentially, +2 to a persona stat equals to 225k yen. It’s very expensive. You can also use the arcade in Paulownia Mall to raise ST, MA and AG stats if you have free days.
