Bastille of Intellect puzzles are among the Points of Interest (POIs) scattered throughout the realms of Nightingale. Each realm harbors multiple Bastille of Intellect, featuring puzzles of varying designs and patterns. To aid you in deciphering these enigmatic puzzles, we’ll explore potential patterns and layouts you might encounter.
How to Solve Bastille of Intellect Puzzles
In Nightingale, Bastille of Intellect feature puzzle cores that illuminate in sequences. Upon approaching one, it’s advisable to wait for the puzzle to reset. Since the puzzles are procedurally generated, each requires careful study for successful completion. Often, when stumbled upon, the sequences commence without full knowledge of crystal locations. Thus, the optimal strategy is to wait for the sequence to restart and then track the lights accurately.
The most common Bastille of Intellect are typically flat around ruins, allowing for easy pattern tracking.
After the memory test concludes, interact with the puzzle core gems in the indicated order. Successfully completing the puzzle unlocks favors from the POI, often granting temporary buffs visible above your HP. Additionally, defeating them may yield essence bundles; in Abeyance Worlds, you’ll acquire Essence Dust, while applying higher major cards to create realms awards various tiers of essences based on card power.
Completing any of the POIs on the map may randomly unlock recipes, and Intellect puzzles are no exception.
However, failing the puzzle prompts an automatic reset, accompanied by the spawning of gloom enemies. These enemies range from basic foes to flask throwers and lantern-headed crawlers, posing moderate threats.
Tip: Deliberately failing these puzzles is possible to create farms. Activate a realm card against Gloom enemies or aim for Arcane Wicks and mid-game ingot drops by intentionally failing these puzzles.
Types of Bastille Bastille of Intellect Puzzles
Layout-wise, several types are observed. Standard ground-level puzzles feature three crystals near the Puzzle Core, all visible in direct line of sight—these are the most common. Tower puzzles involve crystals scattered across different tower levels, sometimes hanging off each other. Fae Tower puzzles present greater difficulty, with five or six crystals dangling from various points or platforms, often challenging to track due to line of sight issues.
For the second or third variation, meticulous tracking of puzzle core locations is crucial, as they are easily lost from sight. Moreover, climbing tools are necessary for accessing towers and crystals hanging off objects. If lacking climbing tools for towers, building foundations may aid in jumping between hard-to-reach places, depending on the layout. Unfortunately, climbing tools are essential for Fae Tower puzzles.
