New World Territory Standing Guide

Area Standing is one of New World’s many progression systems. As you make XP in a region, you’ll increase your credibility with that area. Increasing your reputation will unlock passive benefits while in that region, the majority of which are lifestyle improvements.

Given that each area has its own track record, you’ll wish to concentrate on specific benefits for each region to maximize farming methods. And because you can’t refund these benefits, you’ll want to be especially careful with which options you choose.

What is Territory Standing?

Area Standing is a progression system that gives you passive rewards as you complete activities in a certain region. Comparable to Weapon Mastery, this rank differs for each zone and is increased by earning XP in that zone.

When you increase your standing in a territory by one rank, you’ll be offered a choice between among three (sometimes four) passives that will affect your character while in that zone. These benefits range from extra storage space to increased XP gains. Each zone has a standing cap of 300. You can’t alter your area rewards once they’re redeemed, so pick carefully.

How to Increase?

Increasing your Territory Standing is simple: make XP. Any XP you make will increase your standing with that region. Once you make enough XP, you’ll gain a Territory Standing rank, enabling you to redeem a reward. XP farming tips work well here. Completing quests, closing Corruption Breaches, and crafting will all aid with acquiring Territory Standing as quickly as possible.

Rewards (Best and Worst)

You wish to grab the Storage card whenever it appears, as it’s the only Territory Standing benefit in New World that does not suffer from reducing returns. Storage is a precious commodity when you begin engaging with New World’s endgame crafting, so you’ll want an enormous storage capability in every settlement. Your next best choice is Trading Tax, as a lot of Companies get their income by taxing the auction home. Redeeming the Trading Tax reward a few times will save you an immense quantity of Coin in the long run.

As for other excellent alternatives, you’ll wish to buy whatever you’ll be doing one of the most in that area. Do you trade a lot in WIndsward? Purchase reducing your tax rates. Do you farm resources in Brightwood? Buy Gathering benefits. No matter your strategy, keep in mind that many cards struggle with decreasing benefits.

By far the worst card you can grab is XP Gain. Never take it. You’ll be getting most of your XP from missions, the majority of which require you to head to another zone. You won’t be leveling in the very same zone from 1-60, so the XP Gain benefit serves little purpose. And once you reach the level cap of 60, this card will no longer do anything for you.
