Welcome to our New World How To Get Azoth guide! This section contains some information on where to explore the essential fast travel resource Azoth.
How to get Azoth in New World
An important note: you can only carry a maximum of 1,000 Azoth. If you hit the cap, any extra you accumulate will be lost so make sure you’re spending it regularly by fast traveling.
You won’t be able to get your hands on some Azoth until you’ve completed the Commitment to the Cause quest which tasks you with taking on some missions for your chosen Faction. You’ll receive the quest early on in your adventure, taking only an hour or two to reach. It will reward you with the currency once you’ve finished.
- I’ve finished the Commitment to the Cause quest.
After this, you’ll start seeing Azoth pop up as a quest reward quite often. Fast traveling is something you’ll probably do more than you realize so it’s a good idea to complete as many quests and side quests as you can.
Level 20 enemies will also start to drop Azoth randomly, meaning you can farm the currency easily once you’re a high enough level to take them on. And at level 20, you will be able to farm Azoth at Corrupted Breaches. To help you level up quickly, be sure to check out our Leveling Guide!
- Reached Level 20 – yay!
Azoth Extraction Perk
Azoth Extraction is a random perk that gives you a 30%+ chance to gain 1 Azoth when using a Gathering tool with the perk. To get a tool with Azoth Extraction, you have to craft one at a tier 2 Workshop in a settlement.
Before you can craft, you need materials. Iron tools are a good starting point and will last you a while, but you can also make Flint, Steel, Starmetal, and Orichalcum tools if you wish—dependent on your Mining level, of course.
Ore is mined from veins which is then smelted into an Ingot. You’ll may also need Leather and some kind of wood depending on what tool you are crafting. Gather enough to make multiple.
- I’ve collected enough materials to craft the Gathering tools
From here, there are two ways you can increase your odds of getting the perk. You can spend 15 Azoth for a higher chance of getting a tool with it, but it’s not a guarantee that it’ll be Azoth Extraction so it’s up to you whether you want to take the risk. And if you have it, the Drop of Azoth Oil Special Resource guarantees the perk. You obtain it from harvesting Blightroot.
Once you’ve got what you need, craft your desired tool until you see Azoth Extraction in the item information.
