In this guide, we will provide information about New World fishing hotspots and respawn time. What is Fishing hotspot and how should we use it.
New World: Fishing Hotspots
Fishing hotspots are places in Aeternum that grant players a faster fishing experience.
Hotspots can, however, be used up. Hotspots act as “nodes”, and can be depleted, just like a Mining node. While you can continue fishing when the hotspot is depleted, you will no longer see the “Landed in Hotspot!” text when you cast, nor will you get the quicker bite.
Fishing Hotspots Explained
Fishing Hotspots in New Worlds are unique pools containing fish that will appear inside specific areas. A fishing hotspot is quite similar to a mining node.
Its diameter is around 2.5 meters, and you’ll see fish jumping out of it. Landing your fishing line in this pool will increase your chances of obtaining rarer fish.
The most uncommon, rare, and legendary fish spawn in these areas. Therefore, these hotspots should be your primary fishing locations. The quality of the fish will significantly depend on the type of hotspot.

There are three levels for these hotspots.

Fishing Hotspot appears on fixed locations on the map, but players will need to level up their fishing skill to be able to discover and track them on the map by themselves. Even if you can’t see the fishing hotspots on the map, you’ll still have the option to visit and use them if you know where they’re. Almost all Fishing Hotspots are located inside hexagon-shaped areas on the map and you can also use video guides on YouTube that showcase the Fishing Hotspots in certain regions.
How to Find Fishing Hotspots
Another important question about hotspots is about where and how can you find them? We have the answer.
These locations will spawn on fixed locations and will be marked with their levels which are mentioned above. In addition, they will appear as areas of shallow water.
One thing worth mentioning here is that when you level up your Fishing Ability, it also unlocks your ability to track the hotspots on your map. You’ll find these labeled on your map as yellow hexagon shapes on water bodies.
Once you land your bobber on to the hotspots, a message will appear saying “Landed in Hotspot”. If this message doesn’t appear, you are not fishing in the hotspot and will not obtain the bonus that comes with it.
Congratulations! This is all it takes to catch a fish. You will be rewarded with Fishing XP, Character XP, and of course, the fish you just caught. In addition, catching this fish will help you acquire items like crafting ingredients, fish oil, and fish filets.
New World: 3 Star Fishing Spots Locations
You can fish more or less anywhere in New World, even in shallow water. But deep water is far better, as it increases your chances of finding rare and more valuable fish.
As you explore in New World you’ll come across various fishing hotspot locations, which are areas of shallow water that behave like deep water, giving you an improved chance to catch rarer, higher-tier fish. These fishing hotspots have limited uses per player, so you can’t keep fishing there forever – although server restarts will generally reset these uses.
You can view all the fishing hotspots in New World by checking out the map below, which was taken from this handy interactive New World online map. Note that each fishing hotspot has either 1, 2, or 3 stars next to it, which indicates the quality of the hotspot (Broad, Rare, or Secret), and the rarity of fish you are likely to catch by fishing there.
That wraps up this quick primer on how to fish in New World.
