New World Best Builds Guide

Welcome to our New World Best Builds guide. This guide will show you what the best character builds are in the New World.

New World Best Builds

Best Tank Build

  • Main weapon: Sword and Shield — Swordmaster or Defender Mastery
  • Secondary weapon: Any two-handed weapon
  • Key Attributes: Strength, Constitution

Arguably, New World parties don’t need a tank, as you can pretty gladly combine this with the DPS function, both of which are massively dealt with in the game’s generous option of chunky weapons and tough qualities. However, if you’re seeking to make an exceptionally tanky character (maybe to support a more graceful DPS primary), the Sword and Shield is almost unbeatable as a primary weapon, allowing a fine balance between crowd control, one-on-one attacks, and personal defence.

The tank’s secondary weapon is nearly a case of dealer’s option, considering that any of the game’s two-handed weapons will get the job done perfectly. Even the Spear– typically thought about the weakest of the three– has a sweeping knock-back attack that’s extremely useful for a tank to have. Both the Great Axe and the War Hammer can be brought as a secondary tank weapon, considering that they have some of the highest damage rankings (offset by slower attack speeds) of any weapons on the game.

The most essential Attributes for a tank are, unsurprisingly, Strength and Constitution. The capability to put your full blast into an offensive attack– all while being able to take a couple of hits without drawing your celebration’s therapist far from less well-defended DPS or mage characters– are essential to this build.

If you’ve taken a look at our best New World weapons tier list, you’ll understand that we didn’t rate either the Rapier or the Musket very highly at all. However, we also made the point that every New World weapon has its uses if deployed correctly; and if you’re taking a look at a devoted DPS develop, with a strong party at your back to enable you to actually drill down on enormously destructive opponents one at a time, these weapons both truly enter their own.

Best DPS Build – New World Best Builds

  • Main weapon: Musket — Sharpshooter Mastery or Rapier — Blood Mastery
  • Secondary weapon: Fire Staff — Pyromancer Mastery
  • Key Attributes: Dexterity, Intelligence

Thematically it may feel a bit weird, but the Fire Staff is in fact practically the very best secondary weapon a DPS character could request. It still deals high damage however crucially provides better crowd control than either the Musket or the Rapier (especially along the Pyromancer Mastery tree), so even if your party has your back, being able to switch to it in a tight spot is very practical.

Usually I ‘d advise putting at least some quality points into Constitution, but if your DPS has a celebration consisting of a tank and a therapist they can count on, it’s of secondary importance to Dexterity and Intelligence, which will combine to allow them to handle those picky high-DPS weapons with greater ease.

Healer/Support Build

  • Main weapon: Life Staff — Healing or Protector Mastery
  • Secondary weapon: Hatchet — Berserker Mastery (or any other weapon tied to Dexterity)
  • Key Attributes: Focus, Constitution or Dexterity

The therapist’s primary weapon need to always be the Life Staff, as it’s the only weapon in the game that can heal both its wielder and their other party members. The Life Staff has two courses of Mastery– one focused around healing damage, the other designed mainly to secure against damage in the first place– and either one is a great option for the therapist to pursue, depending on how your teammates like to approach fight.

The Hatchet is the best option of secondary weapon for a healer, as it’s reasonably light-weight, has a high damage capacity, and can offer recovery buffs when updated through the Berserker Mastery (though, unlike the Life Staff, just the wielder themself can be recovered by it). Nevertheless, if you select to put some Attribute points into Dexterity (see below), practically any lightweight weapon can be used as a self-defense back-up for the healer.

The most important Attribute for the healer is Focus, given that this is what permits you to develop greater proficiency over the critical Life Staff. Nevertheless, there’s an argument to be produced drilling down on either Constitution or Dexterity for your secondary attribute (or attempting to strike a balance in between both). While you are able to heal yourself using the Life Staff, higher Constitution assists you to prevent a circumstance in which you’re stuck recovery yourself prior to you can help others or– even worse– passing away and leaving the celebration without a healer in the support role. But a few points of Dexterity will give your healer a boost in managing most light-weight weapons, which leaves them with a secondary line of defense that could be essential.

Mage Build – New World Best Builds

  • Main weapon: Fire Staff — Fire Mage or Pyromancer Mastery
  • Secondary weapon: Ice Gauntlet — Ice Tempest or Builder Mastery
  • Key Attributes: Intelligence, Constitution

There are a lot of people out there who simply constantly wish to play as a mage in an MMO, and I totally comprehend where they’re originating from. New World does not offer a huge variety of wonderful weapons when compared to non-magical ones, however there are enough to put together a strong mage develop.

The Fire Staff is the top choice of wonderful weapon for dealing damage and knocking back opponents prior to they can overwhelm you, while the Ice Gauntlet returns Mana gradually to enable you to keep your wonderful reserves streaming in a fight. Plus, it’s simply really gratifying wielding the powers of fire and ice in combination.

Unsurprisingly, Intelligence is the major characteristic you want to put points into if you’re intending on playing a Mage construct. However, unless you wish to develop into the legendary squishy wizard, I advise putting some points into Constitution while you’re at it. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a glass cannon but there’s no need to be one as a New World mage, since your Intelligence alone should look after both your offensive and defensive wonderful requirements in battle.

Solo Build

  • Main weapon: Hatchet — Berserker Mastery
  • Secondary weapon: Life Staff — Healing Mastery
  • Key Attributes: Strength, Constitution

New World is an MMO, and as such we can’t advise highly enough that you find yourself a group to play with. In PvP fights you’ll be meeting organised teams of other players, while in PvE in charges have actually been deliberately created to be handled by multiple gamers working together. We can’t ensure that you can make it very far in Aeternum without some companions at hand.

Nevertheless, there’s a certain fulfillment in going it alone, at least a few of the time, and we have actually seen one develop that puts you in the decent position of being able to support yourself through a few of the troubles you’ll experience in New World.

As lots of New World gamers are already conscious, the Hatchet is a remarkably overpowered weapon. Its efficiency does make a type of sense, though: as a one-handed melee weapon it’s light enough to wield rapidly; however unlike, state, the rapier, it’s not held back by a sharp yet fine point that restricts you to handling a single enemy at a time. Building up the Berserker ability tree for the Hatchet enables your character to self-heal when a rage buff is active, which is of obvious advantage to solo fighters in particular.

Bring along the Life Staff as your secondary weapon, because this can be used to recover yourself just as easily as your non-existent party members. Consider pursuing the Healing Mastery tree, as the Protector Mastery is less beneficial (though not completely without its advantages) when playing without a celebration.

You can’t pay for to be too fancy with your Attributes when going it alone. Make sure you have high Constitution to take the sting out of inbound damage enough time to allow you to heal yourself; and focus on Strength to guarantee that you can dispense damage quickly and successfully when alone in a fight situation.
