Indies’ Lies 101 Ultimate Guide

In this comprehensive guide to Indies’ Lies, we’ll cover every feature in the game. By the end of this guide you will understand the game and know what to do.

Understanding the Game

If you arrive at the game’s lobby screen, you can select any out of the six hero units you are presented with and proceed to the game. Each unit possesses unique abilities, so it is up to you to decide whose abilities, skills and attributes you prefer. Some units use weapons such as swords and swords, while some only use magic to fight.

After you’ve chosen your preferred hero, it’s now time to start your adventure and battle against opponents. Before starting a battle, you will have to choose a bonus after arriving at what seems like a battle map that has a puzzle-like appearance. To complete a stage, you’ll have to defeat all the enemies in a stage and face the final boss to clear a stage.

Using Skills in Battle

In battle, players are allowed to use several cards that come in the form of attack, defense, and skill. Three cards allow you to attack, two cards let you use a skill and one card for defense against an opponent’s attack. After you’ve used all your attack and skill cards on an opponent, you can click the End Turn button, which gives the enemy their turn to attack your character.

Some enemies don’t possess as many attack or skill cards as you, and while you may be able to strike them up to 4-5 times, some of them may only be able to strike you twice, and then it becomes your turn to attack them again.

Players need to keep in that you cannot use your skills and attack cards as often as you like in this game because they are somehow limited to 3 per match. The cards come with costs on them which you can see above. Some cards have 1 cost, while those you can use as often as you want to have 0 on them.

The total number of times you can use those special attacks or skills is indicated on the left button corner of the screen. So in pretty much all your battles, you’ll be given 3 costs per turn. So in order to increase your chances of winning a match, you have to use the cards wisely.

If you’ve used up all your attack and skill costs and want to regain them back fast, you can simply tap the End Turn button, which will instantly refresh them. The more units you have, the more costs you’re going to be given. As you play further, you’ll reach a point where you’ll have up to 7-10 costs or more per battle.

Choosing Your Rewards

After every victory against an opponent, a pop-up will ask you to choose between two types of rewards which one you want as your loot. The rewards are Gold coins or Cards. You can either choose to receive a certain number of gold coins that can be used to purchase items from the shop or choose a card with a random reward.

After a match, you can decide to enter the shop from the game’s map and purchase items that can help you in the next match. Sometimes you face a single enemy, and you’ll face more than one enemy in more difficult battles. Some enemies also possess various skills that can immobilize your hero and stop them from using their own skills for a turn.

How to Use Talent Sparks?

Talent spark is unlocked after your third or fourth battle, and it can be used to make your characters more efficient and somewhat productive on the battlefield by boosting their performance. Talent Sparks aren’t exactly easy to get, but if you’ve got them without knowing what they’re actually used for, well, now you do.

Choosing a Allies

After defeating the first boss in the game, you can now choose your very own allies to join your team. You will be presented with 3 allies that you can pick from, but you choose, be sure to click on each of them to see their skills and abilities. Some allies protect you by providing defense; some help you attack more, and so on. So it depends on what you think will help you more in the battles to come.

Indies Lies is very exciting and players who want to invest their time and money in a single player strategy game should try this game. The game has different locations, each with different chapters that you can complete and advance to the next location. There is also a very interesting guide in the game menu just below the settings that explains many of the game’s features and characters. So if you missed something while playing the game, can go to the guide and find it there. Although this is an online game, players can still manually save their game progress whenever they want to exit the Adventure Stages page and return to the Lobby Screen.

The game also features brief introductions to some of the heroes, which you can see on the lobby screen if you’re curious about a specific character. However, some of these sites may require you to reach a certain level or unlock a certain tier before you can use them. Anyway, Indies Lies is a brilliant roguelike adventure that deserves your attention.

Ending Your Turn Early to Replenish Cost

In battle, players are given 3 costs in each turn to use their attacks and skills in battles. If a player uses their skills before the end of their turn, the player will not be able to use any more skills that require costs.

In a heated battle against a powerful opponent, this can allow a player to lose the match. In order to avoid this, after making use of all your attack and skills that require costs, click on the end turn button, which will give your opponent the turn to attack you.

After your opponent has attacked you and used their turn, your cost level will refill automatically, allowing you to use your skills and attack cards that require cost once again. As you play the game and move to higher levels, you will be given more than three costs for each battle.

Using The Shop

Players can access the shop at certain times after battles; however, it is advised that you should access the shop as often as possible to always keep your character in good shape for the next fight.

In the shop, you can purchase new skill cards as well as replenish your character HP. Also, the shop often offers eye-catching discounts on certain items that you wouldn’t want to miss out on as long as you have enough gold coins to purchase them.

You can buy different types of portions, attack, skill, and defense cards in the shop, giving your hero an edge over tougher opponents. And if you’re lucky, some discounted cards are truly once in a while opportunity for you to get them, and if you miss out on them, it may take a while to get such a discount when next you visit the shop.

Sometimes You Can Double Loot Rewards

After every battle you win, the game lets you choose between two regards, Gold coins or Cards. At this point, you can only choose one, however, sometimes, you are given the option of more than three rewards, and in this case, you can actually choose more than one.

One of the new options to choose from is the Talent Sparks. This allows you to increase your character’s talents which unlocks new skills cards that you can use. Talent Sparks can also make your hero’s more balanced and effective in battle by boosting their performance. If you use all your Talent Sparks, you will have to earn more to unlock new talents and skills further.

So after making use of all your Talent Sparks, you will return to the loot reward screen, where you have to chose a loot reward. Choosing Talent Sparks at first will make you think you’ve already picked a reward and missed out on the gold and card options; however, you can still pick one of these as your loot reward even after choosing Talent Sparks, which is quite exciting.

Always Use Your Block Cards in Battles

When facing a challenging opponent such as the boss of a certain level, it is best always to shield yourself using your defense card. This card adds a sort of magical protection that shields your character from enemy attacks that without the block, your character could easily become defeated in battle.

Visit the Guides Often

This game has a pretty cool guide on the settings page that gives players information on the attacks and skill cards that heroes use in battle. If you’re curious about certain cards that you possess or want to possess but have no idea what they do or how effective they will be against opponents, you can simply head over to the guide section and find out what you can about various cards.

Use the Library Section to Learn About the Game’s Characters

Indies’ Lies has several pages in the lobby screen that contain some important information about the game on your adventure. The Library section on the other hand, is very interesting compared to other sections. Players can check out the characters as well as the enemies’ information from the library.

From the library, you will realize that there are many characters that you are yet to unlock and play with other than the six characters that you are asked to choose from at the start of the game. You can also check out the villains and creatures section, which gives brief information on the villains and their abilities.

Compared to other strategy games, Indies Read doesn’t have many game modes that players want to explore other than the simple adventure where you go to different locations and complete chapters.

That’s a good thing though, as it allows players to focus on one mode better than multiple modes, many of which can be very uninteresting. So that’s it for our Indies’ Lies tips and tricks guide. We hope that our short guide has helped you break the threshold in your
adventure.
