It is possible to encounter cursed cases while exploring in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. One of these cases is The Flesh is Weak. In this guide, we have explained the details that will help you collect the evidence and unravel the mysteries of the incident.
The Flesh Is Weak Haunting Case
As players explore the regions in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, they will encounter haunting cases where Red and Antea need to collect various pieces of evidence to uncover the intentions of settlers or ghosts and bring closure by performing a ritual.
One such case is “The Flesh is Weak,” encountered during the Hungry the Hunter Quest in The Dark Woods. Red and Antea must speak to both Jacob and Benedict to close “The Flesh is Weak” haunting case.
The Flesh is Weak haunting case is triggered automatically during the Hungry The Hunter Quest. Players will find a blue torch with a red ribbon near a narrow entrance, indicating a campfire location in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. Inside, they meet Jacob, who is waiting for his friend Ben to return. However, the scenario is suspicious; the house is full of maggots, and Jacob appears unfazed, unable to recall how much time he spent in the cave.
Red and Antea decide to explore the mountains to investigate the quickmyst to learn more about the haunting case. They take the rope from the barrel near the entrance and head north towards the narrow exit. Continuing northeast, they jump to another wooden platform and use the rope to climb down the cliff into the quickmyst.
Switching to Antea, who is unaffected by the fog, players cross the river and head right towards a fallen tree log. Proceeding forward, they turn right to find a broken wooden bridge. After jumping to the other side, they destroy the odd-looking stalagmites to remove the quickmyst. Defeating the enemies, they perform a Harkening Ritual using three Wild Chervil and one Lilac Hyacinth.
The ritual allows Red and Antea to witness Benedict’s last moments. It is revealed that Jacob, blinded by anger and hunger, pushed Ben off the cliff.
Benedict’s Body Location
After the Harkening Ritual, players head northeast, jumping over the broken bridge, then head southwest and walk along the edge, staying close to the wall. They climb down the cliff and walk southeast to find Benedict’s corpse near the river.
Sadly, the body has been desecrated, with chunks of flesh carved from it, indicating Jacob resorted to cannibalism to soothe his hunger. Since there is no tie, players return to Jacob’s cave to search for one.
Heading back inside, players pick up the Bowl And Spoon to perform the Make-Manifest Ritual using the Bowl and Spoon, three Wild Chervil, and two Hoof Fungus. Once Ben appears, they speak with him to hear his side of the story.
Finally, players confront Jacob about his wrongdoings to start the Closure event. They have the option of either Blaming Jacob or Ascending/Banishing Benedict’s Spirit. Each option is tied to Antea’s destiny in one way or another, so players choose the most suitable option to complete The Flesh is Weak Haunting Case.
