How to Beat
Chargers become a common threat in missions of Challenging difficulty and above, occasionally appearing as extermination targets in Medium-level missions. Acting as mobile battering rams, these creatures aim to either trample players or pummel them with their hefty claws, protected by thick armor that renders most weapons ineffective.
When confronted by a Charger without heavy armor-penetrating weaponry, your best tactic is to draw it away from your team. Similar to a bull, the Charger fixates on a player and charges relentlessly. Lead it toward a solid obstacle or structure, then evade at the last moment. The Charger will collide with the barrier, momentarily stunning itself and exposing its vulnerable back, susceptible to any weapon in your arsenal.
Weapons against Chargers
To efficiently dispatch a Charger, employ a Recoilless Rifle or an Expendable Anti-Tank (EAT) launcher. Typically, two well-aimed rockets targeted at its legs suffice to incapacitate a Charger. Alternatively, targeting the armored sections with a rocket can strip away the carapace, rendering it vulnerable to conventional small-arms fire. The Railgun also proves highly effective in dispatching Chargers; a friend and I successfully turned the tide of a mission facing a 2 vs. 6 Charger onslaught thanks to its prowess.
Explosive anti-tank stratagems are also potent against Chargers, though their constant movement poses a challenge. Precise stratagem timing is crucial to immobilize them effectively. Additionally, the Autocannon Sentry emerges as a valuable asset, its shots bypassing the Charger’s armor with ease.
