How to Get Handmade Rifle?
There are currently two popular ways to get the Handmade Rifle. The first was posted to the games’ subreddit by user Heartsticles . This method is fairly complicated, but the easiest guaranteed way to get the schematics. First, you’ll have to create a new character and level them up to at least level 15 (don’t exceed level 44). The method only works for a character between those levels. Check the vendor’s at Watoga and Harper’s Ferry. The plans should appear with the vendors, but if they don’t, just switch to a different server.
The second way is a lot less complicated but may require a bit more grinding. If you are past level 44 and don’t feel like leveling up an alternative character, the handmade rifle schematics can be earned by specific in-game events. If you head north of Morgantown, you’ll find the Eastern Regional Penitentiary. Two events can be activated: Jailbreak and Patrol Duty. PD has a 100 percent chance to drop the schematics, but you’ll need to walk around the prison to get the event to activate. If no events start, just hop over to the next server and try again.
Handmade Rifle Plan Locations
You more than likely won’t find a Handmade Rifle lying around in West Virginia. It’s possible for them to drop in-game, but the chance of this happening is incredibly low. Grahm also might have one to give to you, but again, this is very unlikely. The best way to get hold of a Handmade Rifle in Fallout 76 is to make one for yourself. This, of course, requires a plan. Unfortunately, there are only a couple of locations where you can find a Fallout 76 Handmade Rifle plan.
You will only find a Handmade Rifle plan if you are between level 15-44, however, so make sure your character is within that range before you go looking for one.
- Vendor at Watoga Station
- Vendor at Harper’s Ferry
For those wondering, here is exactly what you’ll need in order to craft a Handmade Rifle once you obtain a plan:
2 Copper, 4 Adhesive, 1 Gear, 2 Oil, 5 Spring, 8 Steel, 3 Wood, and 8 Screw. Find yourself a Weapons Workbench and have your Gunsmith Perk at Level 3 and craft a Handmade Rifle. Note that you’ll need a plan for each Handmade Rifle you craft.
How Good is the Handmade Rifle?
For a gun that is quite rare and requires you to be level 15 before you can use it, the stats better be good. Thankfully, the Handmade Rifle in Fallout 76 has some solid stats. They are as follows:
Accuracy: 65
Ammo: 5.56 rounds
Damage: 20 (Ballistic)
Fire Rate: 40
Range: 120/228
Value: 107 Caps
Weight: 13.6
Hopefully, using one of these two methods, you can score yourself a sweet Handmade Rifle and enjoy one of the strongest weapons in the game.
