Doki Doki Literature Club Secret Ending & Poem Words

Welcome to our Doki Doki Literature Club Secret Ending & Poem Words guide. This guide will show you how to get secret ending and poem words in the game!

Guide + Poem Preferred Words

Ok, so some of you might already know that there are actually 2 endings in the game:

The 1st ending is the common ending or some of they say the ‘Normal Ending’ or ‘Just Monica’ Ending that the player encounter when playing the game as usual,
where in the end the player will get a letter from Monica.

The 2nd ending is the ‘happy ending’ that the player will encounter if the player gets all of the cutscenes in the game for each character (each girl),
where in the end the player will get a letter from the dev of this game (Dan Salvato).

Notice

If you have played through DDLC at least once, there’s a good chance you ended up with the Monika ending as she is the only one left at the end of the game, to fix the game file after Monika ending you can just simply reinstall the game because that worked for me, if not then go to ‘game’ files locate ‘firstrun’ file then delete it and you can just simply restart the game and do a ‘New Game’. Ok if that’s solved let’s continue on the guide how to get all cutscenes.

How to Get All Cutscenes

To save time, you should enter the game settings and opt to skip all unseen dialogue If you played a blind playthrough and followed the steps above, the game will think you are playing for the first time and will show you dialogue you’ve already seen.

so your goal is try to get all of the cutscenes from all of the character (girls) before the end of Act 1 (there are 3 Acts in the game) where Sayori dies (commit suicide).

Unlocking each girl’s cutscenes involves similar steps each time: appeal to a girl, write her poetry that she likes, and confess your love for her. You will then need to quit the game and start over before witnessing any deaths (for the most part). Each girl reacts a bit differently of course, so you’ll have to make some adjustments depending on the girl you are wooing.
Start off with Sayori first, after that start with natsuki, and continue after that with Yuri

Sayori Cutscenes

  • Start a new game and appeal to Sayori.
  • Use solemn, melancholy, romantic words when writing poetry for Sayori to unlock two special cutscenes
  • Confess your love for Sayori at the end to get her third cutscene.

Don’t worry about who you selected to help prepare for the festival (it doesn’t matter) because Sayori will come to you regardless, but make sure to exit to the main menu before witnessing Sayori’s death in this and the following playthrough, or else you won’t be able to get the best ending in the game

  • When Sayori arrives, make sure to exit to the main menu so that you won’t witness her death.

  • Don’t exit to the main menu to start a new game but This time, you must witness Sayori’s death to continue…

Now it’s time to prepare for the game’s disturbing ending (no kidding). Once you unlock Yuri’s cutscenes and witness Sayori’s death, the game will glitch and Sayori will be gone from the game. Delete Monika

Don’t delete Monika yet… Instead, play through the game with Monika in the void till you write her a poem, and continue with her dialogue until she sits and stares at you…
When she stares at you, open up the game’s installation files. There should only be Monika’s folder in the character files as she “removed” the others. The only thing you have to do now to achieve the good ending is delete the ‘monika.chr’ file.

You’ll eventually be sent back to the main menu, where Monika should now be missing in the menu, Start another game, and continue through the dialogue and the cutscenes with Sayori. The game will begin to glitch, and you will hear Monika singing as the credits roll….
and you will get a special message from the developer after the credits….

There you have it! By following these steps, you will have unlocked the good ending in the game. The game will be beyond broken from here, so you will have to either delete the ‘firstrun’ file as mentioned or reinstall the game to do another playthrough.

Your Reality + Lyrics

Intro

  • C-Can you…can you hear me?
  • Uh…can you hear me? Uh, can you hear me?
  • Hi, it’s me
  • Um…
  • So you know how I’ve been like, practicing piano and stuff?
  • I’m not really any good at it yet, like, at all
  • But I wrote you a song and I was kinda hoping that I could show it to you because I worked really, really hard on it
  • So…yeah!

Verse 1

  • Every day, I imagine a future where I can be with you
  • In my hand is a pen that will write a poem of me and you
  • The ink flows down into a dark puddle
  • Just move your hand, write the way into his heart
  • But in this world of infinite choices
  • What will it take just to find that special day?
  • What will it take just to find that special day?

Verse 2

  • Have I found everybody a fun assignment to do today?
  • When you’re here, everything that we do is fun for them anyway
  • When I can’t even read my own feelings
  • What good are words when a smile says it all?
  • And if this world won’t write me an ending
  • What will it take just for me to have it all?

Verse 3

  • Does my pen only write bitter words for those who are dear to me?
  • Is it love if I take you, or is it love if I set you free?
  • The ink flows down into a dark puddle
  • How can I write love into reality?
  • If I can’t hear the sound of your heartbeat
  • What do you call love in your reality?
  • And in your reality, if I don’t know how to love you….
