DNF Duel Survival Mode Tips
This mode will unleash wave after wave of enemies, allowing you to boost your stats between battles to survive. However, he will continue to demand the best of you.
Survival Mode Explained
In Survival mode, you face off against a preselected number of AI-controlled characters with only one HP meter. These are single round matches and if you lose you have to start over.
After every ten stages, you win a sequel, which means you can lose a round and avoid resetting.
There are three courses to choose from (“Course A”, “Course B” and “Course C”) and they vary in number of rounds and difficulty. While the latter isn’t always shown, on the character selection screen you can see that the first course requires 15 battles, while the other two require you to fight 30 and 100 opponents.
The rules are always the same: defeat all characters trying to get the best possible score in each battle. With this score you can buy unique power-ups (more on that below) that will make your character harder and more willing to withstand all turns.Unlike most fighting games, no matter what course you’re playing, you can save your survival progress by simply clicking save and exit after winning a battle. This is great when you don’t have time to finish a long game and don’t want to lose your progress. However, it’s worth noting that you can’t save more than one game.
Enhancement Shop
The Enhancement Shop is the menu you see after winning a battle. On this screen you can buy a boost, bonus or recovery bonus by spending your total score:
You can always skip the purchase and keep all your score:
Besides the free upgrades, everything else will become more expensive each time you buy it.
General Tips for Survival Mode
- Use your favorite character or the characters you know the most. This way you will have more chances to achieve victory.
- You can always check the next enemy’s stats by looking at the right window in the Enhancement Store.
- If you don’t have 40 percent or less HP, it’s recommended that you avoid buying health recovery for the first rounds if it’s going to get you in trouble, whether you’ve been hit multiple times or not. They will be expensive each time and you may run out of points for later stages.
- Score Boost (Boredom) is a great option to pick in the first rounds, but don’t get too greedy about it. Your enemy will be very strong.
- Which stats you want to raise is entirely up to you and your playstyle, but it’s better to have a balanced character if possible.
