This is the walkthrough to Cyberpunk 2077’s The Ripperdoc, the first mission in Act 1. Before starting you can do a bit of exploring, but it’s recommended that you complete this mission first.
Cyberpunk 2077 The Ripperdoc Walkthrough
V wakes to a headache and other ailments and while Jackie teases them on a wakeup call, V knows something’s up. It’s time to see the Ripperdoc. Exit your apartment. You’ll get a call from Regina Jones, a woman who wants to give you work in Watson. Remember to follow up on what that might be later.
Walk past the gates that were closed the night before, but don’t take off just yet. Look left, and you’ll see a Drop Point where you can sell all your junk! All that collecting is paying off — quite literally — with the press of a button. In the bottom right you’ll see a prompt that says “Sell All Junk.” Go ahead and hit that and sell whatever else you don’t want.
Get Your First Iconic Weapon For Free
Next, you can follow the waypoint to the lower level that’ll take you to the elevator, but you can also wander around these few floors of your apartment.
Some exploration bits of note here:
- There are two side quests here, one more important now than the other.
- The first is a fighting tournament with Coach Fred. You can do this now or later. It’s a whole chain of quests you can’t finish now, but you can start. It won’t go away as you progress through Cyberpunk.
- The second and more important quest is at The 2nd Amendment, a gunshop right across from the elevator. This is a side quest called The Gun. Talk with the vendor to see his items. Find Dying Night. It’s an Uncommon/Iconic weapon with a red exclamation point in the corner. It’s completely free! Take it, read a bit about how Iconic weapons work, and you can be on your way.
Meeting with Jackie
Take the elevator down and you’ll find yourself in a food court area. Walk out and you’ll see Jackie at a stall near the road. Sit down with him and he’ll tell you all about a new job with the legendary Fixer, Dex. T-Bug and Dex “go way back” and Jackie is a known quantity, apparently.
All that leaves for Dex to check is V before they’re given the gig. But now’s not the time for that. Jackie got your car fixed up and you’re both ready to head to the Ripperdoc. Call your car (just like you’d call Roach if you played The Witcher) and hop in. Follow your map’s directions to get to the Ripperdoc. His establishment isn’t too far away.
Once you pull into the little road by the blue waypoint on the map (that’s a fast travel point, but you can’t interact with it yet) you’ll need to park and walk the rest of the way. There are quite a lot of civilians on foot in this area. At the crossing area take a left and walk toward the waypoint. You should find yourself in front of Misty’s Esoterica.
That name should sound familiar, and you’ll see why once you walk inside. You’ll need to walk through Misty’s shop to get to the Ripperdoc.
Viktor the Ripperdoc
Misty informs you Viktor is ready to see you. Walk through the shop and into the alley. Take the stairs down and enter Viktor’s shop.
He seems to like V. Chat with him about the ongoing problems and ask questions about Dex if you’d like. While you’re here, you can also loot Viktor’s shop. Walk behind the chair and take a left. You’ll see another area. Keep walking that way and you’ll see a desk. Approach, and along a wall next to the desk is a crate with a rare Cyberware mod. Snag that for later.
Return to Viktor and, when prompted, take a seat. You likely can’t pay for the services he’s about to provide, but you can pay him back later.
In the Cyberware menu go ahead and choose the Ocular System to grab the Kiroshi Optics MK.1 and the Ballistic Coprocessor in Hands. If you have been collecting and selling items up until this point, you may be able to afford another Cyberware as well. One of the easier ones to get is the Titanium Bones in Skeleton. That one costs $1000 and increases your carrying capacity by 20%. There’s also a Microgenerator in the Circulatory System menu that deals electric damage when your health drops to a certain percentage for $1000.
If you’re a few credits short you can sell things to Viktor by tabbing over to the Trade menu. Make your picks, then close the Cyberware menu. Viktor will explain a bit more about your new scanner then ask you to put your arm down. Continue the conversation and he’ll put V under.
Once the procedure is done V wakes up with new optics and access to the NCPD file search. You now have access to their wanted list. This is a nice reminder to scan as people and things as you explore Night City. You might be able to make a few extra bucks if you subdue the right person.
Viktor gives V some medicine to take (don’t worry, you don’t actually need to worry about that) for post-surgery recovery and sends V on their way. Head out and up the stairs and you’ll see a cat V can pet.
