The Breakdown Event
The Event is split into 3 stages. NOTE Items will be added and changed during the event, on a weekly basis.
- Stage 1: Monday, January 29
- Stage 2: Monday, February 5
- Stage 3: Monday, February 12
- Event Ends: Sunday, April 7

- Useful incremental rewards along the way and randomized recurring rewards at the end of the event – including useful resources, Rail components, QT-RTGs, Portable Smelters, and Dynamite!
The event can be completed before stage 3, but this is not recommended. Since the further stages allow you to use resources from earlier stages to craft into more valuable event items, worth more event points. Completing the event requires a total of 888,888 points.
POINT VALUES
The EXO-point value of each item can be deduced by looking at the icon of the event resource.
I’ve decided to call them the following:
- Nugget – 88
- DNA – 518
- Packages – 888
- Burrito – 8,888
NOTE: Not all items are available from the start of the event. Resources and items are added throughout the 3 stages.
e.g. the Cosmic Automaton – would have the value of 88 points if traded in.
ACTIVATING THE EVENT
To trigger the event for the EXO Request Platform, you are required to have progressed to and completed the Battery Backup Mission. The Mission can be found at the Landing Platform or Logistics Depot (Train station).

During the event you will be able to print event items, using the event resources at each of the printers!
The Event items will appear at the bottom category in the printer menus

EXO REQUEST PLATFORM
Event Items are to be traded at the EXO Request Platform for event points. 888,888 points are required to complete The Breakdown Event. Trading your event items does not seem to require any byte payment (Events usually require a payment of 500 bytes, per trade). Even though trading is free, Medium Resource Canisters are still recommended to be used, for faster completion.
It would seem that the optimal strategy is to acquire resources throughout the event, then crafting the highest value event item available before trading. This would require the least amount of items to be traded, which would equal to 100 Burrito? event items, if done at the final stage of the event.
STAGE 1
ACQUIRING EVENT ITEMS
At this stage the event has just started! Containers have spawned underground mostly around the CAVES-layer, which can be opened with either power or specific resources. The resources contained in these EXO DYNAMICS RESEARCH AIDS are the ones required to craft the event items to trade at the EXO REQUEST PLATFORM for points towards the event rewards.

At this stage 2 color variants of containers can be found underground, within the CAVES layer. Each color will contain different event resources listed below.

At this early stage only Nugget-value items are craftable. This would require you to trade a whopping 10,101 event items, to complete the whole event.
STAGE 2
ACQUIRING EVENT ITEMS
At this stage more EXO DYNAMICS RESEARCH AIDS will have appeared! The containers can now also be found further below underground, at the MANTLE-layer of planets!
NOTE! The container resource pools will have changed!
A new way to get resources was also added! Snowmen which spawn all over underground, called ICE-OLATED SPECIMEN they will drop 1 resource upon “use”.
EXO DYNAMICS RESEARCH AID
At this stage new containers are found at the MANTLE-layer, which now also require Laterite or Resipound. The same 2 color variants of containers can be found underground, although their contents have changed a bit.
