Mapping
Although it doesn’t automatically map controls, Ace Combat does pick up the fact that you’ve connected the G940. Getting it working in the game is then a fairly easy modification to an ini file. As with any modifications, make a copy of the file being edited prior to making any changes!
You’ll want to open the input.ini file, which is located here:
C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment\ACE COMBAT 7\Config
Within the file, you’ll find sections for the three components of the joystick. Here’s the changes I made in each section. This is a pretty basic mapping since I only cared about flight controls. The process would be the same if you wanted to map things like menu navigation and cameras.
