Dungreed Unlock Gems
Welcome to our Dungreed Unlock Gems guide. This guide will start by providing some basic information about the actual portal that is necessary to unlock the jewels!
First and probably most important, it is located in the deep end of the dungeon RIGHT AFTER LASLEY and RIGHT BEFORE KAMINELA, in a passageway on the right side of the tall climb you normally take to Kaminela’s arena.
Additionally, any gems dropped at the portal (socketed into one of the slots) will stay there across runs until you actually enter the portal. The portal will also stay open once opened across runs until you actually decide to enter it. This means that you can make gem progress across multiple runs, although it is extremely easy to get all 3 gems in a single run if you understand their basic mechanics.
The Altar Gem
The altar gem requires you to donate between 1 and 3 items to the altar on 4 different floors to have the gem unlocked for your use at the portal. You will know how many to donate based on how many missing gem sockets are above the altar when you arrive. There are 3 sockets in total, so if 2 slots are filled by default, you need only donate 1 item to the altar on that floor, and so forth.
This requirement drops to 1-2 donations per floor for only 2 floors total after accessing the new area once.
The Shop Gem
This gem requires you to interact with the item next to croc (the dungeon shop keeper), shown in the attached image to purchase a soul collector for 5000 gold. After purchasing this item, you must get 20 kills without taking ANY damage to receive the shop gem.
This requirement drops to 10 kills after accessing the new area once.
The Food Gem
This gem is retrieved by purchasing 4 foods with a red name during your run, and one spawns in Horerica’s menu per floor.
This drops to only 2 foods after accessing the new area once.

Since many people seem to ask, I feel that I should specify that you can only get these gems after going through the questline involving talking to Albert (the elf archer in the tower to the left of the boutique), that was part of the new update. It involves rescuing 5 adventurers locked in chests and then doing a bit of talking.
There are no more unlocks to be gained from the new area after beating it once, but going there can still be useful to get more xp, food and items, as it is a full floor with a shop and food shop.
