Kerbal Space Program How to Skip Unwanted Launcher in KSP 1.12.4
This guide shows you how to skip it or turn it off.
How to Skip Unwanted Launcher in KSP 1.12.4
1. Right click KSP in your Steam Library
2. Click on properties
3. At the bottom of the “General” tab, you will find “Launch Options” and a text field.
4. In this text field write the following C:SteamLibrarysteamappscommonKerbal Space ProgramKSP_x64.exe %command% (Take note, the path to KSP’s .exe before “%command%” depends on where you have the game installed, to find it you can click the game’s cog wheel in the Steam library and click browse local files, once there find the KSP_x64 executable and right click it and click view properties, in “Location” you will find the file path, just copy and paste that as well as KSP_x64.exe. That will be what you put before %command%.)
5. Close the window
OR
There’s a setting in the in-game options to disable the launcher.
Nobody wants launchers in their games if it’s already on a launcher such as Steam, it only adds issues and annoys people.
How to Bypass the Unwanted Launcher on Linux/Proton
To remove the launcher and allow the game to properly run on linux again:
Right-click in your library and browse local files
Delete the folder “PDLauncher”, this contains all the data for the launcher
Delete or rename the Launcher itself “KSPLauncher.x86_64”
make a symlink from the actual game executable to the old launcher name to trick steam into launching the game directly by opening a terminal in the game folder and using the command:
ln -s KSP.x86_64 KSPLauncher.x86_64
The game works now on my system running Mint Linux. Thanks for the useless update, Private Division.
