Exploring Ghostwire: Tokyo’s world, you’ll come into contact with your fair share of secrets and useful exploits that will help you battle spirits or, in the case of the various hidden costumes found in the game, look stylish as you’re wandering around Tokyo.
Transmission Beads – Ghostwire Tokyo Cheats and Secrets
The Transmission is one of the most useful unlockables. Beads are obtained after defeating the final monster of Ghostwire: Tokyo in Chapter 6: Binding. After the boss is defeated and the credits have ended, you’ll receive a notification informing you that the beads have been added to your inventory.
Equipping them will allow you to automatically deposit spirits without returning to a phone booth, making spirit hunts a lot quicker and more efficient.
Quickly Completing Containment Cube World Events
When exploring the world of Ghostwire: Tokyo, you’ll often come across floating containment cubes trapping souls you can free and absorb. It’s easy to become tired of this activity considering it’s one of the only world events you’ll come across throughout Ghostwire’s runtime, however, they are a useful way to accumulate souls, money and ammo.
Fortunately, there is a simple strategy you may apply to finish them quickly. When foes spawn into the fighting arena, wait for them to rush to the cubes and begin absorbing energy before attacking. Then approach each enemy from behind and launch a stealth attack. You will never be detected by the AI, and the encounter will be over quickly, so you won’t have to fight a major war every time a cube emerges.
Stealth Attack Difficult Enemies Prior to a Fight
Following on from the last point, stealth attacks are easily the most powerful moves in Akito’s arsenal. They can take down a lot of big enemies instantly, including every type of Walker foe, the Lamentations and Shine Dancers (if you can nail the positioning).
To help you bait the most guarded enemies into positions vulnerable to stealth, use the Thicket talisman to create a hiding spot and the Distract talisman to lure enemies. Even the toughest foes, such as both varieties of Kuchisake, will take a lot of damage from stealth attacks, making it a powerful weapon.
Triggering the Hyakki Yako Event – Ghostwire Tokyo Cheats and Secrets
The arrival of the Hyakki Yako (or the Ghost Parade) is a random world event that sees Akito come face to face with a wandering army of ghosts. Approaching these spectres will cause the player to be sucked into a void where they battle several waves of enemies in exchange for spirits they can deposit at a phone booth.
However, triggering the Hyakki Yako event is tricky, mainly because the event’s spawn is inconsistent and seemingly works on some sort of in-game timer. For those needing to encounter the Hyakki Yako to achieve the Hero of Shibuya trophy, there is one way to more reliably run into the ghostly parade.
Periodically while playing the game, return to the Shibuya Scramble Crossing. The Hyakki Yako pretty regularly show up here, allowing you to max out the spirits you need from them. It’s difficult to make two Hyakki Yako encounters happen in quick succession, but if you make a habit of returning periodically while mopping up side quests or other objectives, you’ll prevent the inevitable end game slump of running around looking for this elusive ghostly crew.
Easy Way To Beat Tough Melee Enemies
Although you’ll eventually amass abilities essential to dealing with more brutal melee enemies, early into Ghostwire, coming face to face with foes like the Kuchisake and the more intimidating Walker varieties can be tough. However, you can exploit a lot of these enemies using the Grapple – Summon Tengu ability.
Once acquired, it’ll allow you to grapple to the top of buildings in the near vicinity. Luckily, enemies that focus primarily on melee don’t have much of a response for your new vantage point, allowing you to pick away at them using wind, fire and bow attacks. It’s also a solid method of finding time to heal when overwhelmed by enemies.
Fallout 4 Vault Suit – Ghostwire Tokyo Cheats and Secrets
One of the more significant references found in Ghostwire: Tokyo, upon completing the side-mission Crimson Moon, players will get their hands on a new outfit that’ll be very familiar to Fallout fans. The outfit in question is the Vault 111 jumpsuit given to the Sole Survivor in Fallout 4 when they are admitted to Vault 111 during the game’s prologue.

Tanuki Outfit
Upon reaching the end of the Tanuki Hunt sidequest, you’ll receive a brand new mission from the leader of the shape-shifting tanukis titled The Boss Tanuki. If you need help tracking down all these transforming critters, check out our Tanuki locations guide.
Completing The Boss Tanuki nets you a brand new cosmetic: the Tanuki Outfit. There’s no tangible benefit to wearing this funny mascot suit, however, you will be able to pull off a pretty mean Tom Nook cosplay (time to start hitting Tokyo’s ghost population with some heavy housing loans).
