During The Wardstone Legacy, speak to Anevia to prompt this quest, which will send you to Market Square.
Head south to the square where you’ll find Ember about to be sacrificed. She’ll die if you let her (despite what the text might lead you to believe). Pass any of the checks to have them free her; otherwise, you must fight. Colour Spray will be highly effective here.
Once the soldiers have been dealt with, ask Ember to join you and she will.
Enter the house to you left. Kill the rats (avoid Piercing and Slashing weapons if possible; Burning Hands is excellent) and loot Seasoned Wings and Thighs (recipe) from the broken table area. In the back left room, disarm the trap and loot the chest for Hide Armour +1. In the back right room you’ll come upon a summoning ritual; fail to pass the Arcana check and your whole party will take a ton of damage. If you succeed, you will earn 17XP and the demon Vrock will appear briefly before portaling out. Otherwise, simply destroy the circle.
Outside and northwest, look for the Athletics check in the corner rubble that will allow you to build a bridge, thus completing the errand.
