GUILTY GEAR FIX FPS Issues
Welcome to our GUILTY GEAR FIX FPS Issues guide! This guide will show you how to find the necessary setting in NVIDIA Control Panel to force the framerate to be in a playable state. A guide to get the game to play at stable frame rate.
This is mainly for issues affecting people with high refresh rate monitors. Typically those with 120hz, 144hz, 240hz, 300hz, etc… The game is affecting some of these people and having the game match those refresh rates. For me personally, the game was matching 300hz on my laptop and was completely unplayable as a result.
Easy Fix (NVIDIA users)
Open up your NVidia control panel. You can do this simply by right clicking on your desktop in an empty area, and selecting NVIDIA Control Panel, or by searching for it from the Start Menu.
Once you have the NVIDIA Control Panel open, follow these steps:
1.) Select “Manage 3D Settings” on the left hand side, located below Select a Task in the 3D settings section.
2.) Select the Program settings tab as seen in the Manage 3D settings on the right side.
3.) hit the drop down underneath Select a program to customize, and select Guilty Gear. If Guilty Gear does not appear, click the “Add” button, and wait a few seconds for a list to populate. Find Guilty Gear in the list and select it.
4.) Look under the Specify the settings for this program and scroll down the list until you see “Max Frame Rate” By default it should say “Use Global Setting (Off)”. Click on “Use Global Setting (Off)”.
5.) You will see some options now. Select the “On” option, and look for the text box next to “FPS” and type in your desired framerate. 60fps is usually the sweet spot for this type of game. After you type in the FPS, click “OK:
6.) Now click “Apply” on the bottom right.
7.) Launch the game and have fun!
