Study Doctor Hudson’s Research Walkthrough
Ounce of Prevention is automatically accepted after completing the preceding quest Final Departure. Your first objective is to “Study Doctor Hudson’s Research“, located in the AVR Medical Center far to the south of Flatwoods.
Follow the road south out of Flatwoods toward the quest marker, or simply hop on the railroad tracks which lead almost directly there. You are likely to encounter various hostile wildlife, wanderers, and robots along the way so be sure to grab whatever supplies you need at the Command Post in Flatwoods before heading out.
Head inside the AVR Medical Center and prepare yourself to do battle with a large number of Scorched Wanderers. They come equipped with all kinds of melee weapons and firearms, so clear out as many as you can before taking time to explore the building. The objective is located in the basement.
Drop through the large hole in the floor in the lobby, then walk around the large machine until you find an opening in the wall leading to the underground lab (note: this machine has a Fusion Core in it, so feel free to grab that as you go past).
Drop into the lab and kill the elite Scorched Wanderer guarding it. If you collected a lot of loot and junk in the medical center you can use the Chemistry table in this room to break them down. When you are ready to advance the quest head to the AVR Medical Laboratory Terminal and read about the Inoculation Project.
This will unlock a new set of objectives. You must obtain a blood sample from a Feral Ghoul, Molerat, and Wolf, as well as obtain a T-Type Fuse. Head out of the AVR Medical Center and open your mini map. You will see three small circles indicating where you can find the required enemies.
When you defeat them, walk up and press “collect blood sample”. Be careful of the wolves, as they are high level and travel in packs. If you are having trouble trying leading just one away or hopping into a nearby obstacle where they can’t reach you.
