Ancestors The Humankind Odyssey Apex Predator How to Become?
Getting Started (And Losing your Monkey Virginity)
In order to begin your journey to the top of the food chain you need to have a lot of hot monke sex and create primate baby. To have a baby you need to find a monke of the opposite gender and then hold left mouse button to groom them. After three successful groomings you will initiate a relationship with that monke. Once in a relationship, lie down at a sleep spot and hold left mouse button again to call them to you and then mate. If you are successful, the game will broadcast that you have impregnated a monke successfully. Congratulations! You are no longer a virgin. You can then speed up the pregnancy which passes a single ingame year. Once a year has passed you will have given birth to a new member of your family to carry on your epic monke legacy.
Becoming an Ambidextrous Bastard
Now that you’ve created a baby, all you need to do is complete actions while you are carrying a monke child. This produces neuronal energy which is used to reveal neurons (neurons are basically perks that let you do new things). Once you have enough neurons and neuronal energy you can use the energy to reveal and initiate neurons. The neurons in particular that you will need to unlock are motor skill (ms 01) and acute stress response (ms 02). These neurons allow you to utilize both hands to carry and alter held items.
Forging your Primitive Primate Pikes
Now that you can use both of your dumb monke hands, what you need to do is locate your nearest stick, which you can find using intelligence (e). Once you have found a stick you need to rid it of those pesky branches by altering it. There are multiple ways to go about this, the most efficient being to use your bare hands. To alter an item press spacebar until the screen flashes and a sound is played. This is a quick time event so be quick about it. Once the branches are off, you can now defend yourself. While you can use any form of stick as a weapon, they are not nearly as effective as a sharpened stick. To actually kill anything, you need to find a rock and hit the branch until it is sharp.
Besting an Opponent in The Fields of Battle
Now that you’ve gotten this far and have acquired your trusty weapon, it’s time for the hunt. With your stick in hand, venture into the great wilderness and locate a hostile animal. For complete beginners, boars are the best animal to kill. Boars are big and easy to spot, and inflict broken bones as opposed to a snake’s venom, which is harder to heal. Killing enemies isn’t quite well taught and it’s easy to just gloss over. You need to wait for the enemy to attack first, and dodge into them. You will then automatically be put into a cutscene of you either stabbing the animal and it running away, or you stabbing the animal and it dying. This is entirely dependent on how sharp your weapon is. Try not to take on two animals at once, this is a very bad idea. Unless you’ve got a ton of spears lying around it’s a million times easier to make the animals kill each other. Remember, spears are single use only. If you want a weapon that can survive multiple uses, the hard bone is a good early game alternative that has unlimited uses. You can get the hard bone by butchering the corpse of an animal that has bones, (i.E. Boars, sabertooths) but keep in mind it is not very good at killing. Now that you’ve killed your first animal, congratulations! You’re an apex predator. But remember, this is only the beginning of your journey to the top of the food chain. There’s always a bigger fish.
