CRUEL How to Beat Melee Mode

I have compiled comprehensive information on how to beat melee only mode in CRUEL in this guide.

How to Beat Melee Mode in CRUEL

Here is  how to beat the melee only mode:

Cruelty

Enemies and Weak Points

  • I will be covering blanket enemy types to keep it short.

Shooty Enemies

  • Take cover and avoid open sightlines where you have to rely on dodging and parrying bullets.

Crows and Spiders

  • Keep melee weapons on hand for crows and spiders since they are hard requirements for when they are airborne. Crows can only be beaten into submission, and spiders need a long-range lobotomy in the form of a throw.

Mr. Baton and Mr. Chainsaw

Try and throw since both are pretty much immune to direct melee damage.

  • Baton should be a priority for environmental damage since it’s the most effective way to dispose of him.
  • Chainsaw NEEDS to have ♥♥♥♥ thrown at him since he can’t be kicked into environmentals.

Barrel Goblins

  • Run up to them and back to bait an explosion since kicking them sets them off immediately.

Ghosts and Vending Machine

  • Kick them since they die in one shot, which means you don’t waste valuable durability on weapons.

The Sauce

Environmentals

  • CRUEL features many different environmental hazards for both you and enemies that can be used to your advantage. Here’s a list of them and how to best utilize/deal with them:

Windows

  • Windows are the bread to your buttery kick and should be used as often as possible for the enemies that are kickable to send them down a wide range of floors. Pretty self-explanatory.

Claymores

  • Kick enemies into them if you have the chance, or bait enemies into walking into them. (Note that ghost enemies don’t trigger claymores.)

Electricity

  • Same as claymores.

Proximity Mines

  • These can’t actually be triggered by enemies, which makes them a pain to avoid.
  • What I’ve found works best is sliding past the mine and any enemies next to it, resulting in minimal damage, as well as any bystanding boogers exploding with it.

Toilets

  • Toilets are a blessing in disguise sporting their WC mark and blue color.
  • There’s a hidden feature of the toilets that works so that if an enemy is kicked into it, they promptly break their neck and die! Useful and comedic! Simply anticipate the enemy exiting, made easy by the flushing sound cue, and kick them right back!

Enemies

  • Yes, that’s right—enemies themselves act as environmental hazards if you kick them onto each other for a bowling-like effect, where they knock each other down temporarily so that you may decide further on how to deal with the situation.

Bullet parries consume durability, so try to avoid situations where you’d need to parry. But a slight weapon durability point is worth less than thier respective HP counterpart.
